PROJECTS & STORIES

The 250/150 initiative extends beyond the gallery through the work of students and faculty exploring place as a site of inquiry, creativity, and connection. Below you will find research projects, creative works, lesson ideas, assignments, and discussion prompts developed across disciplines at Fort Lewis College.
Grounded in place-based learning and object-based inquiry, these projects show us how histories are carried in land and institutions, how belonging is shaped through relationships, and how creative and scholarly practices can open new ways of seeing place. Many emerged through courses, learning communities, and conversations connected to the 250/150 initiative, demonstrating how classrooms can become spaces for listening, experimentation, and shared meaning-making.
Like place itself, this page will continue to grow over time, reflecting ongoing inquiry, collaboration, and attention to place.
